corridor of the Berks County industrial market hasn’t seen a new class A building project for over 10 years, and va- cancy rates for existing stock in Berks County sit below 1.0% as a result. Conditions throughout the Lehigh Val- ley are likewise tight, with overall vacancy at 1.6% Heading up the marketing effort on the site are Bri- an Knowles and Andrew Komisor of Lee and Asso- ciates of Eastern Pennsyl- vania . According to Knowles, “Berks61 is a rare and ex- citing project. It’s unusual to have the opportunity to promote an infill project that simultaneously offers public transportation, available la- bor, manufacturing-capable infrastructure, rail service, and modern site design with ample parking and great on- site circulation. The strength of this location and fast-track delivery capability is attract- ing interest across the spec- or obstacle when also main- taining a job/career. Being successful in this field re- quires availability outside the standard Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm work week. Dif- ferent time zones, deadlines, emergency situations, client interaction and client needs all put your working hours way outside the standard 40hr work week. Being able to adapt to that while properly maintaining a healthy work/ life balance is an art form as much as a skill! What outside activities do you enjoy during you free time? I enjoy spending quality time with my family. Wheth- er simple family dinners, weekend outings, weekends at home, or family vacations, I enjoy quality family time. I am also an avid reader, like to travel and see new places, and I absolutely love GLOUCESTER, NJ — Markeim Chalmers, Inc. , a commercial real estate, ap- praisals and property manage- ment firm in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area, announced the following transaction in Gloucester Twp. has received land develop- ment approvals for develop- ment of a 278,000 s/f building, which has been designed in anticipation of manufacturing and logistics uses. The land development approval was granted by Muhlenberg Township at the Commissioners meeting on September 19, 2016, pend- ing mutual agreement of a Developers Improvements Agreement. “Land Devel- opment approval and our acquisition of the property effectively pave the way for What unique qualities and/or personality traits do you feel make you most successful? I am trustworthy. My clients have confidence in my ability to manage their risk and help find solutions to any issue. What challenges and/or obstacles do you feel you needed to overcome to be- come as successful as you are today? I would say a challenge and obstacle often synony- mous with success, and one that is always a challenge, is time management. Multiple clients and multiple projects require great skill in time management. It is crucial to be able to always have time to attend to your clients as needs arise, and keep mul- tiple projects moving along. There’s also time needed to foster new relationships and gain new business – as well as manage your staff. Time man- agement skill requires the use of many other skills, such as multitasking of course, focus and effective delegation. ing business opportunities because we do not have shovel ready sites in the most desir- able locations in proximity to our great workforce. It’s one of the primary reasons we are excited to work with Brasler Properties who are bringing on line a great ready to go location that is ideal for manufacturing.” The Route 61 ligence is defined as “the ca- pacity to be aware of, control, and express one’s emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.” In short, it’s people skills. Therefore, I be- lieve such skills are extremely beneficial to maintaining any form of relationships in life, and just as important in a business relationship. I par- ticipate in industry events, client events organized by my company, and client events (small and large) I organize periodically – all valuable means to stay connected to your clients, as well as gain new business and new clients. Tell us a little about your family. I have a 4 year old son named Gavin, he is the ab- solute light of my life! He is also by far the biggest source of joy, and my biggest energy drain! He is extremely inde- pendent and insists on doing all things by himself, he is smart, gentle, and strong, the traits of a true leader. I can’t wait to witness what he will accomplish in his lifetime! If you are the primary caregiver to your children what obstacle and chal- lenges do you meet on a day to day basis? I would say the work/life balance that any primary caregiver faces is a challenge

There’s advantages to be- ing a woman in the business world as we are still in the minority and can sometimes be viewed as a breath of fresh air to some, and there’s the perception (whether accurate or not) that we can be better listeners, have more patience, have more attention to detail, and be more attentive to cli- ent needs, which I believe is due to the maternal view of women in general. There’s also disadvantages as we may be perceived as less skilled or knowledge- able than our male counter- parts, meeker than our male counterparts, and as we are often mothers with families, we may also be perceived as not being as dedicated to our careers as our male counter- parts, all definite misconcep- tions! Do you feel there are any differences in the way that men and women develop business relationships and if so, what activities or venues do you partici- pate in? I‘ve often read that studies have shown that women have a higher level of emotional intelligence. Emotional intel-

My advice for a young wom- an going into this field, or any field for that matter, would be expect to work hard, put in long hours, and constantly learn along the way. But with that expect great success and reward in the form of both career growth as well as per- sonal growth. Also know that integrity and reputation are extremely valuable and next to impossible to earn back, so always be true to yourself and your moral compass as much inside the business world as out. And as far as directly re- lated to this field, know your environmental policy! n MarkeimChalmers reps. buyer of 1.1 acres
