As well as the blood lost, Richard also shed three kilograms in Borneo, about the average weight loss of the College boys. It was rapidly regained on his return. With such a huge cultural and environmental experience, Richard says the Borneo expedition has given him the confidence to travel alone anywhere in the world. “After those experiences I feel confident I’ll be able to go and do whatever I want. With a trip like that you were always going to benefit.
