At its February meeting the Board of Governors gave the green light for the development of a new multi-purpose sports facility at College, to be located adjacent to the swimming pool and overlooking Upper – hence the name Upper West.
College has worked closely with architects from Architectus New Zealand to create a concept for Upper West that meets our needs and future-proofs our facilities. The major elements of Upper West include a multi-functional sports hall, the size of two full- sized basketball courts, as well as strength and conditioning facilities, teaching spaces, an erg room, plus changing rooms, offices and equipment storage.
Our commitment to the boys is at the heart of everything we do, and we believe Upper West will take our sports, health and wellbeing programmes to the next level. We hope to get this exciting new development underway later in the year. We are grateful to the many people in our community who recognised the need for new sporting excellence, health and
wellbeing facilities at College and contributed to our recent For the boys. For our future . campaign. All money raised in that campaign has now been earmarked for the development of Upper West, and we are pleased our supporters are as determined as we are to see this project succeed. We look forward to keeping our community involved as this much-needed facility is built.
