Word of Life 2024

“Taking naps and eating snacks is biblical. Don’t be afraid to take a break in ministry!”

Justin “Spud” Dorough Resident Director of Hungary, Chile, and South America

“When you graduate from Word of Life Bible Institute, it is our prayer that you’ll prioritize solid biblical teaching in a local church, establish a routine for Quiet Time, and spend quality time talking to God. These things are important, but I would also challenge you to remember the value of biblical community as well. While all of the ministry experiences and Bible study were absolutely essential to your spiritual growth this past year, your spiritual growth was also due to the intense biblical community you experienced. Shared burdens, group prayer, vulnerable testimonies, swapped Quiet Times, sins confessed, and shared experiences of everyday life were all vital to your growth. As Ephesians 4:16b aptly explains, ‘As each part does its own special work, it helps other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.’

For further encouragement, see 1 Peter 4:8–11, 2 Corinthians 6:11, and Acts 2:41–47. Then go build community! It can be as simple as inviting someone to dinner.“

A quote by C.T. Studd:

“Only one life ‘twill soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last. And when I am dying how happy I’ll be if the lamp of my life has been burned out for Thee.”
