“Dear Bible Institute Class of 2024,
I write to add my voice to the chorus of those congratulating you for completing a second year of the prestigious and valuable Word of Life Bible Institute program. What a significant accomplishment! By the time you read this, I expect that your memory of my teaching will have faded given all the other events and requirements of this final semester: snow camps, basketball games, meals, classes, papers, exams, and the bigger-than-life resident professors you have enjoyed like the Lough brothers. I’m fine with you forgetting me in favor that you remember some of the things we discussed in class, about which you so eloquently wrote, and of which you found consistency in Scripture. Truly, we can lead God’s way and succeed in man’s world though remembering that ‘this world is not my home, I’m just a-passin’ through,’ and also that we want to be laying ‘up treasure in heaven where moth and rust don’t corrupt and where thieves don’t break through and steal.’ Were you to ask me to remind you of one thing we discussed in class, I would go back to our discussions of serving and leading God’s way, of seeking to serve, and of grounding yourself in and living your life according to God’s Word.
Know the Word of God and the God of the Word. He is all I need!”
