PROFESSOR
“Do you remember writing your Personal Mission Statement during Week 1? My challenge to you then was that you would keep that statement in the forefront of your mind and be able to say, ‘Yes, I stayed true to my mission,’ at the end of the year.
So… how did you do?
As you complete your first year at Word of Life, I trust you feel more confident not only in your writing but in your overall ability to effectively communicate from a biblical worldview. As we discussed from An Introduction to Christian Worldview, ‘Our worldview determines our values. It helps us interpret the world around us. It sorts out what is important and what is not, what is of highest value from what is least’ (Walsh and Middleton, qtd. in Anderson et al 38). Based on our goals from Research and Writing, my challenge to you now is this:
Organize your time carefully to value the Word.
Think critically to value discernment.
Communicate effectively to value your identity as a believer.
Research properly to value truth.
Your organization, thinking, communication, and research will always be influenced by your world- view and will ultimately reveal what you value the most.
Stay on mission. Stay true to a biblical worldview. Stay close to Jesus.
I am so proud of you.”
