Homecoming Weekend commenced with a reunion dinner and fellowship for the class of 1973. Following supper was the presentation of the Alumnus of the Year Award to recipient Phil Moser.
Saturday – the biggest and most jampacked day of Homecoming Weekend was filled with all sorts of campus activities and opportunities for alumni, staff, and students to reconnect and get to know one another. The cold and rainy day may have caused the cancellation of some events on the agenda, but the Huskies men’s soccer team showed great determination in playing and continuing to be examples of Christ in their ministry to the opposing team despite the weather. Soccer, however, was not the only sport of the weekend. 6:00 PM began the ultimate face-off between the men’s and women’s Word of Life Huskies basketball teams and the alumni teams who were ready to show that their school spirit has lasted beyond graduation. Ultimately, it was the Word of Life Huskies who came out on top in both the men’s and women’s games, proving the teams’ dedication and determination to face the challenges ahead of them.
