Fall Fun Night, better known as Fight Night, was an evening defined by its festivities, food, and fellowship – but most prominently, by its fights. Students dressed in costumes of all kinds gathered and spent time with one another, discussing their various ideas and costume themes as they awaited the beginning of the long-anticipated main event of the night. Later, students would pair up, enter the inflatable gladiator ring, and face off against each other in hopes of being the final fighter standing. However, there was one vital battle standing in front of the student fights. Professors Drew Burtis and Jonathan Lough were prepared to kick Fight Night into full swing with a rematch like no other. As their names were announced, cheers reverberated around the gymnasium. The professors stepped into the ring and took their places, ready to fight. The first two rounds passed quickly as Burtis and Lough found themselves in a tie. The title of Professor Winner of Fight Night 2023/24 came down to the final round. With everything on the line, both exhibited valiant efforts. In the end, it was Professor Jonathan Lough whose balance held out just long enough to pronounce him the winner, defending his title for two years running. Fight Night was an action-packed evening of fun and connecting that helped students build stronger bonds with one another as they continued in a year that was sure to impact their lives in great ways.
