SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Day in Resort Driver’s Day Off We spend today lounging in our chosen coastal resort, soaking up the warm Mediterranean climate. This scenic stretch of Catalonia’s coast is popular for good reason – the combination of climate and culture means we’re in the perfect destination for ‘Me Time’ either relaxing at our hotel pool, or sunning ourselves on the local sandy beach, or watching the world go by at one of the many restaurants or bars. Day 3 Barcelona Today we enjoy a half-day guided tour of Barcelona, starting with a stroll along the wide promenade of Las Ramblas. Explore the narrow alleyways, boutique shops and tapas bars, and don’t miss the eye-catching buildings designed by Spain’s most visionary architect, Antoni Gaudí, including the Park Güell and the magnificent Church of the Sagrada Família. We spend the rest of the day at leisure exploring this beautiful city. Day 4 Jardins de Cap Roig & Girona This morning, we enjoy a visit to Jardins de Cap Roig, beautiful gardens overlooking the pretty coastline next to the seaside village of Calella-de-Palafrugel. Created in 1927, the gardens cover 17 hectares and feature more than 1000 plant species and an attractive medieval-style castle. In the afternoon we make our way to the historic city of Girona, where the beautiful Roman walled old quarter, Força Vella, is
dominated by the 11th century Cathedral tower and its baroque facade. Its Gothic nave is the largest of its kind in the world! Located within the Força Vella is the Jewish Quarter (or ‘Call’), one of the city’s most remarkable areas. A labyrinth of narrow medieval streets and passageways makes this area one of the most picturesque in Catalonia. Other attractions we can explore in Girona are the Arab Baths, built in the 12th century and complete with changing rooms and a relaxation area, and the Basílica de Sant Feliu, with its castle-like appearance and priceless works of art. Day 5 Day in Resort Driver’s Day Off We spend another day recharging our batteries and relaxing in our chosen resort on the Costa Brava coastline. Day 6 Costa Brava Cruise Today we make our way to the popular beach resort of Blanes, known as the “Gateway to the Costa Brava”, complete with 4 kilometres of beautiful sandy stretches. From here, we embark on a relaxing one-way cruise along the stunning Costa Brava coastline to Lloret de Mar. As we cruise, we marvel at the magnificent stretch of coastline before us with its beautiful long, sandy beaches and small coves along the way. Day 7 Departure After breakfast, we begin our journey home.
