All sprinkled with a covering of snow and a touch of Christmas magic, join us as we discover this wonderful area and its authentic Christmas markets at the most magical time of the year.

Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Strasbourg

We have a late morning departure for Strasbourg with a visit to the city centre to see its historic old town in a wonderful setting on the Grande Ile which is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Enjoy visiting the Romanesque Cathedral, an outstanding example of Gothic architecture and famed for its beautiful astronomical clock. Day 3 Colmar We journey to the outstanding medieval town of Colmar in the beautiful Alsace Region of France. We spend the day here browsing the beautiful streets and the stalls throughout the amazing Christmas market. Day 4 Triberg, Wolfach and Gengenbach We enjoy a morning visit to the Black Forest town of Triberg with the opportunity to visit the famous waterfalls, some of the highest in Germany and browse the enchanting shops decorated for Christmas. We will enjoy lunch before travelling to Wolfach to see the local glass blowers, skilled craftsmen creating a range of beautiful glass objects
We enjoy a morning visit to Freiburg. With time at leisure, we can explore its rich history and cultural heritage including the Gothic cathedral with intricate architecture. After lunch, we return to the hotel for wine tasting and time to relax before dinner. Day 3 Chocolate and “Little Venice” This morning, we head to Colmar. Guests will enjoy a short tour aboard the Little Train of Colmar . After this, we visit the Colmar Chocolate Museum where we will be treated to our own ‘ All Chocolate Workshop ’ with a professional chocolatier, making our own chocolate delicacies to take home. Next we enjoy free time in the town before returning to our hotel. NB: This day will require a certain amount of walking as coaches cannot enter the old town of Colmar. Workshops are limited to 25 pax per hour, so larger groups will be split in 2 with half visiting the museum and then swapping places. Day 4 Basel We will enjoy a full day at leisure in Basel. Highlights include the famous Old Town, majestic Townhall and the Munster built 800 years ago in Romantic and Gothic styles. We are spoilt for choice of lunch spots including urban food courts, cosy pubs and restaurants overlooking the river. It’s also home to the vast Christmas Shop. NB: Passports are required for this excursion. Day 5 Departure After breakfast, we make our way home.
