Cruise in Style on the Imperial Danube Travelling through several European countries, this delightful Danube river cruise begins in the charming city of Passau located where three beautiful rivers of the Danube, Inn, and Ilz meet. We then sail the mighty River Danube with time in the imperial cities of Vienna, Budapest and capital city of the Slovak Republic, Bratislava, as well as the impressive Austrian town of Melk famous for its baroque Benedictine abbey.

SUGGESTED ITINERARY

Day 1 Embark in Passau – Krems We arrive in Passau and board our ship before setting sail at 20:00 making its way to Krems. Day 2 Krems - Vienna At lunch time, we arrive in Krems with time to explore the UNESCO protected beautiful Old Town with so many churches, museums and historical monuments to discover. Such as the Gozzoburg, one of the most important medieval buildings in Austria dating back to the 13th century. Many shops and cafes are dotted around for you to enjoy a coffee and pick up souvenirs. Enjoy the rolling hills of the vine-clad Wachau Valley all around you as we depart for Vienna in the evening. Optional excursions are available. Day 3 Vienna We arrive in the early hours of the morning into the capital city of Austria for a full day – the imperial capital city of Vienna where cultural treasures include the Hofburg Palace, Schonbrunn Palace and the State Opera reflect the splendour of bygone times. As well as beautiful baroque architecture, the city contrasts with modern style museums and cafes. We are docked in the city until 18:00 when we then depart towards Budapest. Optional excursions are available. Day 4 Budapest We spend today in Budapest and will be docked here until tomorrow morning. Known as the ‘Paris of the East’, soak up the beautiful scenery and architecture of both sides of the Danube linked by the famous Chain Bridge. Buda is known for its historic charm, rolling hills and royal heritage, and attractions like Buda Castle and the Fisherman’s Bastion. Pest is filled with shops, cultural hotspots and the Hungarian parliament. Optional excursions are available. Day 5 Budapest – Komárom

Day 6 Bratislava We arrive early in the morning where we are docked until after lunch so we have time to explore the charming medieval old town and the castle majestically perched above the city. After lunch we set sail for the picture- perfect town of Melk. Optional excursions are available. Day 7 Melk We arrive early morning in Melk, where we are docked until 13:30. The town has a rich history spanning over 1,000 years, famed for the Benedictine Abbey. There is also an open-air art mile offering a blend of contemporary sculptures and historical artworks. This afternoon we return to Passau. Optional excursions are available. Day 8 Disembark in Passau After breakfast, we disembark at 09.00 and begin our journey home. We depart Budapest and enjoy sailing along the Danube before arriving at Komárom after lunch. Komárom, an historic Hungarian border town shaped by fortresses and cultural heritage.
