This morning, we travel to the historic city of Bruges, a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site brimming with beautiful buildings, churches and canals. In the afternoon, to get a real taste of Bruges, we enjoy a 1 hour guided tour at the Brewery Bourgogne des Flandres where we learn more about one of Belgium’s most famous exports. We experience the different aspects of the brewing process, meet the brewer in the attic and enjoy a tasting in the alehouse at the end. We spend the rest of our day at leisure – enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride around the historic streets, visit one of the many chocolate shops or see the town from a different perspective, on a relaxing canal cruise. Day 3 Ghent Today we visit the Flemish city of Ghent, which boasts an opera house, museums, ancient churches and dozens of bridges. We spend the morning at leisure with time to explore this lovely city. Look out for the medieval belfry with its echoing bell, which, in the past, used to alert Belgium’s rulers of enemy advancements. Nowadays, it’s just part of the city’s charm! In the afternoon we embark on a 50-minute circular cruise , tucking into sandwiches and tea/coffee whilst we discover Ghent from the water. Or alternatively a day in Ypres can also be an option, see page 57 for suggestions. Day 4 Departure After breakfast, we begin our journey home. INCLUSIONS • Return short sea crossing
This morning, enjoy some free time in Ostend. With its unique character, lively seafront and marina, bustling markets, and excellent seafood restaurants. Take a stroll along the pier or simply unwind on the beach. In the afternoon, we have leisure time in Ypres, a town full of history and charm. Explore its historic Cloth Hall, impressive Cathedral and picturesque medieval Market Square. While Ypres has centuries of history, it is perhaps most famously remembered for the events that unfolded here during WWI. Day 3 Ghent & Bruges This morning, we visit the Flemish city of Ghent, renowned for its opera house, museums, historic churches and countless picturesque bridges. Be sure to spot the medieval belfry, with resonant bell which once warned Belgium’s rulers of approaching enemies. In the afternoon, we travel to the historic city of Bruges, a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site brimming with beautiful buildings, churches & canals. Day 4 Departure After breakfast, we begin our journey home.

HOW ABOUT? Brewery Bourgogne des Flandres
After nearly 60 years, Brasserie Bourgogne des Flandres has returned to the inner city of Bruges (closed Mondays). Explore the brewery and breathe in the smell of malt and fresh hops. See how the beer is brewed – and maybe have a taste? Ghent Boat Tour and Chocolate Tasting The experience begins with a 50-minute guided boat trip, which includes a glass of cava, beer or a soft drink or water. This is followed by a two-hour guided walking tour, featuring approximately five tastings at various artisanal chocolatiers. Ask your Account Manager for details.
