Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Lausanne’s Promenade & The Olympic Museum
overlooking Lake Geneva, with a magnificent Alpine backdrop. The town is often referred to as the ‘Pearl of Lake Geneva’ After lunch, we will travel to the vast terraced vineyards of the UNESCO region of Lavaux with more beautiful views of the lake. We will enjoy a delightful visit to Lavaux Vinorama for a brief wine tasting of 2 delicious wines and the opportunity to purchase some of this excellent local produce. Day 5 Chocolate & Cheese A day to tempt your taste buds, this morning we visit La Maison du Gruyere to discover more about the making of the delicious famous cheese of Le Gruyère AOP. An interactive exhibition reveals the secrets of cheesemaking at three different stages of maturity. Afterwards, we enjoy free time for lunch in Gruyere village. This afternoon, we turn our attention to chocolate with a tasty visit to a real Swiss chocolate factory, the Cailler-Nestle Chocolate Factory in Broc as we meet master chocolatiers. We then return to our hotel. Day 6 Departure After breakfast, we make our way home. We have a day at leisure in the picturesque and hilly town of Lausanne on Lake Geneva surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. In the morning, we also have a guided tour of the Olympic Museum , home to the world’s largest and most comprehensive Olympic collection. Hear more about the Olympics through the decades via our guide and the fascinating exhibitions on display. The historic old town is waiting to be explored including the ornate 13th-century Gothic cathedral, quiet cobbled streets, 17th century Town Hall and stunning Lausanne promenade hugging the shoreline. Day 3 Yvoire & Lake Geneva Cruise Today we have a morning departure from opposite the hotel to board a scenic cruise across Lake Geneva to the French medieval village of Yvoire. With a small population and being traffic-free, the town has preserved its medieval look with ancient town walls and gates, a historic castle, and narrow cobblestone streets. Particularly pretty in spring and summer, balconies and windowsills bloom with flowers. We have free time here for lunch and sightseeing. Afterwards, we board our coach and returning early evening. (Depart Yvoire c1500-1600). (NB: this excursion can be done entirely by boat if another driver’s day off is required). Day 4 Montreux & Lavaux This morning, we have at leisure to explore Montreux’s promenade lined with subtropical flowers and
