Second annual Father-Daughter Dance With proceeds

going to the Sports Dome project, the second annual Father-Daughter Dance was held at the Embrun Community Centre on Saturday, May 6. The evening, which featured little ladies all dressed up in gowns and tiaras, helped raise more than $2,000. Organized in collaboration with the Kin Club of Russell, many stations were offered, including makeup and nails, in addition to the disco theme, which allowed daddy and daughter, Lola andDean, to reconnect and spend quality time together. “We’ve had lots of interest in the dance,”mentionedDawn Armstrong. “Even months ago, people were wondering if we were going to be putting this event on.” —photo Vicky Charbonneau

L’ÉSCE à New York !

Les 14, 15 et 16 avril, un groupe de 52 élèves de L’École secondaire catholique Embrun a visité certains attraits touristiques de la ville de NewYork. Ils étaient accompagnés du guide Bruno Lecot et des enseignants Frédéric Désilets, Mélanie C. Lalonde et Isabelle Lecot. Durant ce séjour de trois jours, les élèves ont pu découvrir le site du World Trade Center Ground Zero où se trouvent le 9/11 Memorial , le quartier financier de Wall Street , Central Park , les quartiers italien et chinois, Times Square , le Brooklyn Bridge , le Rockefeller Center , le Bryant Park , Broadway , la Statue de la liberté et plusieurs autres endroits mythiques. Les élèves ont pu en apprendre davantage sur la ville historique tout en admirant ses décors et ses richesses artistiques et architecturales. —photo fournie
