Language Arts At Steps to Literacy our goal is to help cultivate a student’s love for reading. Teachers utilize independent reading strategies to encourage a student’s curiosity and to scaffold them to new reading abilities. Our Language Arts collections are curated to showcase new, exciting, and diverse books with interesting stories and powerful visuals. We encourage all students have a voice and a choice in the books that they read. Our libraries and collections are built to entice students to learn more about themselves and the world they live in. We have a variety of K-5 collections for students to choose from when it comes to independent reading including — Biographies, Mysteries, Poetry, Popular Series, and more!
Focused Literacy Libraries pg 24 • Dig into literature fundamentals for K-5 using our libraries of focused sets for characterization, plot, setting, theme, and nonfiction text features. A mix of read aloud and independent reading titles allow teachers to confidently introduce a concept and have students continue the learning experience while they read on their own.
