Johnny also managed Glebe Rangers, Portstewart, Coleraine Reserves and Tobermore on two separate occasions. “I decided a couple of months ago to look and see if there was any possibility that we could reform Bertie Peacock Youths,” explained Johnny. “After a few phone calls with the likes of David Edgar, the Peacock family and a few contacts I still have in youth football, it was very clear that this was something that would be welcomed all over the country.

THE FAMOUS BERTIE PEACOCK name is once again set to grace local football. Founder member Johnny Law is determined to ensure the Bertie Peacock legacy lives on. A cross-community football organisation, it was named in memory of one of Coleraine’s most famous footballing sons, the legendary Bertie Peacock. The former Glasgow Celtic and Northern Ireland star was also a renowned administrator, playing a key role in establishing and supporting the Milk Cup, now SuperCup NI. Bertie, who managed Coleraine Football Club to their one and only league title in 1974, was a keen advocate of youth football. Now Johnny, who played for Coleraine Reserves
