With this our 4th issue, we hope to reach many more people out there who need some inspiration, maybe a bit of humour and some encouragement with their work. Health research is often a long and lonely journey with a focus on the science and rightly so, but sometimes we all need help with the human side. So get connected with The Researcher, read, comment, discuss, share and contribute to building the community.

Welcome everyone to this 4th edition of The Researcher. If this is your first read of the magazine be prepared for the gutsy, honest and often uplifting stories from real people working in health research and if you are a returning visitor then say hello to old friends such as “Aunty Caz” and “Top Tips”. So many people have enjoyed this magazine; read in as many as 54 countries across the world, that we have aptly named this issue Building Community. The Researcher Magazine now has its own community of people working to produce each edition and supported by all of you who read and enjoy the magazine.
