Dear Brother in Christ: My means are certainly limited. After the family have had the bare necessities of life, there is very little left. But praise God, He will not fail us, and we certainly need to hold on to Him in prayer these days. I am enclosing ,a P. O. order for $4.00. Will you please apply $2.00 toward the printing and mailing of the KING’S BUSINESS, and $2.00 to my Challenge Pledge? Yours in prayer, VII El Cajon, Calif. Dear Friends: I am enclosing herewith money order for $5.00 which seems like such a little bit in view of your great need, and greater usefulness in the pushing of the Lord’s work. We, like most of our neighbors, are very much worried, or I perhaps should say, very much concerned about the payment of debts and the lifting of the mortgage from our home. But having had the experience of seeing one daughter go through the Bible Institute, and of watching other young people grow so wonderfully through their connection with the institution, we feel that we owe you a debt which it will be impossible to ever entirely liquidate. While the little we can send seems so very small, we know that God can do wonderful things with little things, and our prayer is that the One who fed the multitude and gave them a feast from the few scraps found in the boy’s lunch, will multiply this little gift and the others that will be coming in till all of the financial needs pf the wonderful Bible Institute will be more than met— and not only the financial needs, but the spiritual needs as well. We love the KING’S BUSINESS and are praying that it may come out of the depression stronger than ever before. Yours truly, Dear Sirs: Enclosed find $2.00 to use in your work. May God meet your urgent needs as He sees is best, for He is able and willing. That we may not fail Him is our prayer. Yours sincerely, While prayer on behalf of the Institute ascended to God from many parts o f the nation— and continues- to rise in daily petition— it has pleased the Lord to grant gracious tokens o f deliverance. The issuance o f the July-August number o f the K ing ' s B usiness , as well as the publica tion o f this September issue, are among those tokens of blessing that have come directly from the hand o f God. The Institute admits that it is still;in the dark, but walk ing like Peter, in obedience to the voice of its Emancipator. Until complete deliverance is experienced, will prayer con tinue to be “ made without ceasing o f the church unto God” ? Such prayer will affect the coming and the training of hundreds o f young men and women who will seek entrance into the Institute on September 13, the date announced for the opening o f the fall semester. Such prayer will extend to that magnificent work of evangelism, centered in the China department of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles— the Hunan Bible Institute. Such prayer will determine whether or not the influence o f the K ing ’ s B usiness - —reaching over 25,000 subscrib ers— shall be hindered. Prayer that continues to be “ made without ceasing o f the church unto God” is the greatest need of the present hour. The Institute beseeches its friends to plead with God on its behalf. Prayer and prison bars— may they combine to glorify the risen Lord. Will YOU pray? VIII Pasadena, Calif.

Dear Friend: Your letter -was received. We have been praying for Biola, a place which, though never having seen, we love— love its spirit, its work, its true Christianity— a lighthouse in this dark night.

We send on faith these five small loaves, for my sister and I— neither one young -are trying to keep from mortgaging our little cottage home, and it is not easy to make ends meet. Also we have taken in a friend, who has neither home nor money, so we are trying to help all we can, and it certainly is a blessed privilege to share even our littlewith, the Lord’s dear chil dren,, who are being greatly tried today. May you be blessed in your good work, and may gifts pour in above all that you were

able to ask or think! Bravely bear the standard, for the battle is the Lord’s and the time may be much shorter than we dream. May it be so ! He will surely keep us all until the end. Yo u r s sympathetically in the radiant hope,

My dear Friends: You may remember that some time ago I promised you a donation for the work of the Bible Institute just as soon as our closed bank in St. Louis would open. Said bank has not, and is not going to reopen, but I can send you the enclosed small check [$25.00] which I trust may help a little. Very sincerely, ------------------
