Katie Lowran ABOUT: Katie is a prolific contemporary artist who finds inspiration from moments, whether it be from a person, a place, or a memory—the things in life that leave us breathless. This is reflected in her unique pieces by using textures and layers of vibrant colors providing an emotional experience for the viewer. Katie’s mediums of choice are acrylic paint and found objects in nature. On December 1, 2020, Katie was featured on 9 & 10 News “The Four.” Katie is a Guild Member of the Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City, Michigan, and the Village of Fine Arts Association in Milford, Michigan. NOTES ON “SALT OF ROSE” & “PICNIC”: The feminine figurative has been beautifully portrayed through art across cultures for centuries. I was inspired by these historical beauties, and it gave me the opportunity to capture the organic equilibrium of tenderness, love, and spirit in different ways through my works with “Rose of Salt” and “Picnic.” THIS YEAR: Several people have said to me, ”I wish I could paint.” My response always is, ”you can, come over, try painting, I have everything you need!” Every pop-up has been an opportunity to encourage the unleashing of their creativity and building a richer connection with art.
