Day 5: Malgrat de Mar You have a free day to enjoy your hotel’s amenities, perhaps soaking up the sun at the outdoor pool. Optional: Day trip to Besalu Day 6: Malgrat Local Market Make your way to a fantastic local market to enjoy a wide variety of local specialities, available to sample and buy, offering everything from freshly caught seafood to delicious fresh fruits and expertly crafted olive oils. Day 7: Girona Girona is one of Catalonia’s major cities, and today you have free time to explore this city at your leisure. You could explore the ancient city walls and towers which mark the entrance to Girona’s Old Town, plus Girona Cathedral, dating from 1015. This cathedral is home to the world’s widest Gothic nave, although it isn’t the only prominent religious building in Girona – there’s also the Sant Pere de Galligants church, and the Collegiate Church of Sant Feliu. After a day exploring, you’ll return to your hotel in Malgrat de Mar. Days 8-9: Malgrat de Mar - UK As your holiday draws to a close, say goodbye to Malgrat de Mar and travel overnight towards home.
