\Jivian i 'ÎJestim O H LJ O NE day as a Euodia teacher was passing a group of girls, she stopped and invited them to come to the Euodia Club the following week. One girl from the group, named Vivian, did come the next week. They had a fine meeting that day, and for weeks Vivian never missed a meeting. When there was opportunity for testimonies, Vivian never failed to give a radiant testimony. One could not forget the sweet smile on her face when she closed with the words, “ And I am going all the way with Him.” Though Vivian’s sight was not all a high school girl would like to have it be, she never seemed disheartened nor dis couraged. For a whole year Vivian was faithful in attendance at Euodia Club and each time she testified there was still the same ending, “ And I am going all the way with Him.” Then came a week when Vivian was not present. A second time she was ab sent, then we learned that while listening to a broadcast she got too close to the gas heater in her home and was badly burned. For seven weeks she hovered be tween life and death, and every day her mother visited the hospital and sat by her side. After much pain and suffering, the frail body could take no more, and Vivian went home to be with the Lord. The Euodia teacher went to Vivian’s home to comfort the brokenhearted mother who told her this story: “ It was Vivian’s custom to listen to a particular broadcast and take down all the references that were given. Then in the evening she would curl up in her favorite chair with the little red Testa ment her Euodia teacher had given her, to read those references. Her faith in Christ and His Word was sweet and sim ple. It has always been so hard for me to believe; I had so many doubts, but as I would -watch Vivian reading her New Testament, it made me long for a faith like hers. Then came the tragedy and Vivian was rushed to the hospital. The evenings were lonely and long without her, and- I missed seeing her sitting in her favorite chair reading her little red Testament. Every day that I visited the hospital Vivian would say over and over again, ‘Mother, if I don’t get well, I want you always to remember that I am not afraid to die.’ When she knew she would not recover, she gave her testi mony again and’ pleaded, ‘Mother, I want you to meet me in heaven.’ It was there in the hospital during those last days that I gave my heart to Christ. Now I am going to read her little red Testa ment, and attend her church.” Since Vivian’s home-going, many Euo dia teachers have told the story of Vivi an’s life, and as a result many girls have accepted Christ as their Saviour, and many have surrendered their lives for full time service. So although but a very young girl, her life told greatly for the Lord, and even now she “ being dead yet speaketh.”
