Our courses aim to provide you with skills, experience and knowledge so you can develop a career within the public service sector. These revolutionary HE courses give you the opportunity to gain work experience in criminal justice settings. Practical assessments are integrated into the courses, where you are expected to take part in the de-escalation of offenders and hostage/crisis negotiation facilitated by industry professionals. Areas you will study include conflict management, criminology, crime and criminal behaviour, offender risk

You could progress onto a career in areas such as: • Community support

management and substance misuse, crime and communities. You will spend time in lectures and seminars, going on trips and visits to public sector areas of interest and hearing from industry specialist speakers and lecturers. We currently have strong industry connections with West Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Police, Wakefield Prison, Doncaster Prison and Rampton High Security Hospital among many others. Students are offered the opportunity to shadow professionals and pick up vital work experience as part of the course.
