As temperatures drop, it doesn’t mean you have to say goodbye to all your favourite garden plants. Many popular outdoor varieties can transition beautifully to life indoors, adding greenery and charm to your home through the winter months. Here are five garden plants that can thrive inside with the right care: 1. Geraniums A garden favourite, geraniums are surprisingly easy to overwinter indoors. Place them in a bright, sunny window and cut them back slightly to encourage new growth. With minimal watering, they’ll continue to bloom throughout the season.

2. Herbs (Rosemary, Basil, Mint) Herbs are perfect candidates for indoor growing. Rosemary and mint are especially hardy, while basil prefers warm, sunny conditions. Use pots with good drainage and place them on a windowsill with lots of light. Bonus: fresh herbs at your fingertips all winter long! 3. Begonias Tuberous and wax begonias make lovely indoor houseplants. Dig them up before the first frost, pot them in well-draining soil, and place them where they’ll receive filtered sunlight. Their colourful blooms and striking foliage brighten any indoor space. 4. Coleus Known for their bold foliage, coleus plants can be rooted from cuttings and brought

indoors. Keep them in indirect light and pinch back the tips to promote bushier growth. These vibrant plants are excellent for adding colour to dreary winter days. 5. Caladiums These tropical plants can be brought in as dormant tubers or kept growing in pots indoors. If you opt for dormancy, store the tubers in a cool, dry place until spring. If kept active, caladiums enjoy humidity and indirect light. Bringing garden favourites inside not only protects them from frost but also helps maintain a green, lively home environment all year long.
