FACTS ABOUT US: ✓ We treat both our commercial and registered cows equally. ✓ Our cow herd grazes year-round, proving feed efficient genetics. ✓ We are very disciplined on culling cows/bulls. ✓ Large offering of embryo bulls from elite, proven donor cows. ✓ Pasture developed bulls for longevity & muscle growth. ✓ We use our own bulls on commercial cows to monitor performance. ✓ We select genetics that we believe will work without influence from semen companies. ✓ We select genetics using phenotype first and EPDs second. Because of this diversity, we focus on producing two distinct categories of bulls. First, the kind the industry often calls a rancher’s bull...heavy muscled, early maturing, and elite for structural soundness. Bulls built to hold up, travel, and thrive in real-world conditions. Second, a small- country bull with added length and capacity, designed to add performance and growth without sacrificing the core qualities that make a true rancher’s bull so valuable. What many breeders won’t openly admit is that when you select hard for one type, you inevitably give something up in another. While there will always be some overlap, creating hybrids that push traits one direction or another, our goal is honesty in what each bull is designed to do. No program is one-size-fits-all. We would be more than happy to visit with you, evaluate your operation, and help determine which genetics will work best for your environment and goals. Kyle Kilty Bar X Ranch was built from the simple belief that the best bulls come from knowing what it truly takes to run cows. Long before we ever sold a bull, we were raising them for our own commercial herd because we needed cattle that could work, last, and make a living in the same conditions our neighbors face every day. We are fortunate to live in one of the most diverse regions in the country for cattle production. Within a few miles, the landscape shifts from silage fields to open sagebrush. Our neighbors and customers may be sugar beet farmers or mountain cowboys, and our own cattle reflect that same range, spanning two counties and grazing everything from short native grasses to lush irrigated pasture.
