DEPARTMENT HUMAN RESOURCES MISSION/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Civil Service Activity is responsible for maintaining compliance with Chapter 143 of the Texas Local Government Code regarding recruitment, pre-employment evaluations, and operational procedures involving Civil Service personnel in the City of DeSoto. *Comply with state statutes and regulations for Civil Service employee. *Oversee all entry level testing for Civil Service employees. *Manage all promotion processes for Civil Service employees. *Coordinate activities and training for the Civil Service Commission.
