Marielle a participé à un voyage humani- taire avec son école l’an dernier auMexique, où les élèves ont peinturé une école, passé du temps avec des gens d’un village pauvre, parmi d’autres projets. Elle est aussi engagée dans la communauté et aide à organiser la guignolée et la campagne des anges de Noël, en faisant du bénévolat pour les Chevaliers de Colomb et pour d’autres campagnes avec son école. « Ça fait deux ans que je fais du bénévolat, mais j’ai commencé quand j’étais plus petite avec les Chevaliers de Colomb, a expliqué Marielle. Ça fait juste grandir et grandir. Chaque année je veux faire plus. » « Oui, à l’école on est là pour apprendre les maths et les sciences, mais c’est aussi pour apprendre à être des bonnes personnes, des bons citoyens engagés », a expliqué M. Roy. La Journée UNIS visite plusieurs villes au Canda, aux États-Unis, et en Angleterre. Les prochaines Journées UNIS auront lieu à Halifax le 30 novembre, Montréal les 21 et 22 février, Londres le 7 mars et les dates pour Chicago et Seattle sont à venir.
