heart. She counted them as of greater value than the treasures which the wise men had be stowed. Blessed Mary, mother of our Lord. The Romanists have exalted her into undue prominence and the Protestants have forgotten to give her the high place accorded her in the word, blessed among women.
watchers. They were witnesses of the glory. They believed the word. They obeyed. They were rewarded. They went forth to tell of the wonders of His grace who had opened the heavens to give them a message of mercy. Everywhere they proclaimed the glad tidings. Over nineteen hundred years have passed and we will sing the songs of praise in many lands, glory to God in the highest, the Prince of Peace has come. Some of us will sing also a new song. 5:2. His divine and human nature is predicted in Isaiah 7:14 and 9:6, 7. The poverty and meanness of His ex- ternal condition is described in Isa. 49:7; 52:14; 53:2, 3. In Isa. 11:2, 3 the excellency and dignity of His char- acter are portrayed. The time of His departure is determined in Dan. 7:26, and the awful cry upon the cross in Psa. 22:1. The Second Psalm predicts the future. The first three verses pic- ture the antagonism of the nations against the Christ of God; the fourth and sixth verses show the Lord holding them in derision; in the seventh and ninth verse the decree of the Lord is set forth, and in the tenth and eleventh verses the kings of the earth are urged to yield obedience unto Him. We are to look first of all at a few of the prophecies concerning the Son of God. They cover a very large range —commencing with that wonderful pre- diction in Genesis 3:15, when we are told that a woman is to bear a son who is to have victory over Satan and give deliverance to sinful men. This is the germ prophecy, and from it radiates more than two hundred distinct pre- dictions with reference to the Coming One. We have space for but a few. He is to be of the Seed of Abraham, Gen. 12:2-3. The house of Judah was "to con- tinue until He was born, Gen. 49:10. He was to be the Star out of Jacob, Nom. 24:17, and a Prophet like unto Moses, Deut. 18:18. The time of His appearing is foretold in Dan. 9:25. The nation, tribe and family from which He is to descend is told in Isa. XI :1 and -Jer. 23:5, 6, and His birthplace in Micah
