FROM THE NFL TO HSID
Studio Kër founder Michael Bennett brings a deep connection to Black history and African diasporic design into his sculptural furniture. His work was recently showcased at Chicago's Rebuild Foundation. In addition to his artistic endeavors, Michael Bennett had an illustrious 11-season career with the Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Philadelphia Eagles, and he clinched a Super Bowl victory with the Seattle Seahawks in 2014. Michael is also a vocal advocate against injustice.
MICHAEL'S DESIGNS
THE INSPIRATION Established in 2020, Studio Kër finds its inspiration in the founder's upbringing in the Coastal American South, as well as African and Haitian heritage. The studio creates sculptural furniture that delves into themes of intersectionality, segregation, and the American ghetto. Each piece is deeply connected to the community and incorporates historically Black cultural motifs. Read more here.

Congratulations to Andréa Bauer, a Virtual Master’s Program graduate, who is embarking on a new journey in the Interior Design Industry after impressing the panel with her incredible portfolio. Andréa successfully balanced working full-time at OHSU while pursuing her Master's Certification in Design.

Ashley, the owner and principal designer of Ashley Rajagopal Home, possesses over 15 years of experience leading organizations in the tech and non-profit sectors. With a distinctive combination of business acumen and design skills, Ashley adds value to every project. Ashley is a graduate of the Heritage School of Interior Design with a Master’s Certification.

Meet Summer, our esteemed Seattle Instructor since 2021. Summer currently teaches Fundamentals of Design and Kitchen & Bath. With a passion for inclusivity, Summer's design firm, Tavish Interiors, strives to provide down-to-earth, approachable, and practical design solutions. Summer's teaching philosophy is centered around encouraging students to explore their creativity and guiding them through their growth as designers. She believes in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment, helping students build confidence and develop their unique design style. Tavish Interiors, Summer's design firm, is dedicated to making design accessible to everyone.
