Studio Kër founder Michael Bennett brings a deep connection to Black history and African diasporic design into his sculptural furniture. His work was recently showcased at Chicago's Rebuild Foundation. In addition to his artistic endeavors, Michael Bennett had an illustrious 11-season career with the Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Philadelphia Eagles, and he clinched a Super Bowl victory with the Seattle Seahawks in 2014. Michael is also a vocal advocate against injustice.

THE INSPIRATION Established in 2020, Studio Kër finds its inspiration in the founder's upbringing in the Coastal American South, as well as African and Haitian heritage. The studio creates sculptural furniture that delves into themes of intersectionality, segregation, and the American ghetto. Each piece is deeply connected to the community and incorporates historically Black cultural motifs. Read more here.
