the Word of the Gospel, that Jesus Christ died for your sins, and was buried, and rose again from the dead. Now have you decided to take God at His Word? Have you placed your confidence in His Son? Have you believed in your heart, and with your mouth confessed Him before men as your Lord? If so then you have a love for God, a love for His Word and a love for His people. You have a profound anticipation to see the Lord Jesus face-to-face. You want to become more and more like Him. You want to be with that great company of redeemed who will be in heaven throughout all eternity. These qual ities of faith, love, and hope are evidence that you have indeed be come a child of God. They should be proof to you that you were chosen of Him before the founda tions of the world to belong to His family. With such faith, love and hope we have the ingredients of the life that is abundant. There waits only the challenge to cultivate and to continue that which the Lord has begun (II Peter 3:18). It is self evi dent that you cannot go on with God unless you have begun with Him. Have you really made that beginning? When I was only seven years of age I decided to put my trust in Jesus Christ, asking Him to save me from my sin. In a very simple way, I bowed my head and asked the Lord Jesus to forgive me. I went to my mother and told her happily, "I have become a Chris tian." She put her arms around me and kissed me, all the while prais ing God that her boy had made a beginning in faith. Even as a lad I felt the surge of love in my heart for God. There
