A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 7

As we enter the last half term of Year 7, I am tapping into the experience of our students to look at ways that we can help next year’s Year 7s settle in at Waldegrave. Each form group has compiled a lovely welcome letter for our incoming students which I’m sure will be gratefully received. Congratulations to our Year 7 Netballers, who after a narrow defeat in their final fixture against Grey Court finished in 2nd place in the Richmond Borough League. An impressive achievement! Yesterday our Rugby team spent the day at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub representing our school in the London Youth Games Rugby League Finals. The team finished in 2nd place! Well done to all students involved. I would like to wish our Year 7 and 8 Cricket team the best of luck as they spend today participating in the RSSP Cricket Tournament at Barn Elms Playing Fields. It is time for us to start collecting any funds raised for the Lepra charity. There has been some very impressive fundraising from our students: Annabel L and Daphne E (7EFR) raised over £60 washing cars and Bea W, Violette M and Hannah A (7POR) organised a cake sale that raised over £90. Olivia D (7EFR) and Eirynn S (7POR) raised over £130 between them. Students can bring in any contributions to their form tutor or contributions can be made via our JustGiving page. Thank you to all students and parents for their support with the Lepra fundraising. As a thank you for all the hard work put into the Lepra fundraising by our students, the Lepra charity is running a Zumba dance class for Year 7 on Friday 23 June. On this day, students can come to school in their PE kits and are advised to bring a water bottle. The session will run for 30 minutes in the afternoon and will be suitable for all abilities.
