Creating The Brand Your Work Deserves
Social impact organizations are leading the world in these uncertain times. With so many communities heavily relying on these organizations’ aid, it is abundantly clear how significant their role is in our society. Unfortunately, very few of these organizations do an excellent job of visually expressing their significance. We call this phenomenon a Greywhale; it is the gap between the important work an organization does and how that work and organization are branded. The visual identity ( brand ) may not be the first thing on an executive director’s mind but, appearance matters. No matter how many times we say don’t judge a book by its cover, that cover does, in fact, often communicate the information necessary to engage and excite current and future stakeholders. Our express purpose is to help you better express your impact on the people and communities you serve, with a brand identity that mirrors your purpose and reflects the empathy in the work you do. Branding matters. The aim is to create an informed and interested audience. When presented with opportunities to engage, like donating or volunteering, your audience is already aware of your organization, purpose, how it matters, and works.

Our Process We create with your mission in mind.
Phase One : Audit
Deliverables • Brand Audit • Survey Responses • Brand Attributes
We begin by diving in and getting to know your organization inside and out. How you came to exist, what you do, and what your goals are. From here, we collect and analyze all the marketing materials we can get our hands on to pinpoint the Greywhale is in your organization’s branding. Then we relay our findings and survey your stakeholders to uncover ( or confirm ) your brand attributes. At this point, we move forward to the branding stage, where we begin to craft a vision for your organization’s future identity.
Phase Two : Branding
Deliverables • 3 Logo Options • 1 Final Logo • 3 Mood Board Options • 1 Final Mood Board • Visual Style Guide
In this phase, using the brand attributes we uncovered at the end of the last step. We begin constructing the visual foundation of the brand. Logos are essential to your brand, so we exercise caution when suggesting changing it. Unless you express interest in making a change, we will only recommend a subtle refresh to breathe some new life into it. We design and present mood board options that represent how the brand could potentially look going forward. Once an option is selected, we create visual style guidelines that demonstrate the brand your work deserves.

We collaborate with you every step of the way.
