procedures, especially in line with Health and Safety requirements. • Lead project stakeholders to develop their business case requirements, aspirations and constraints to create and develop the project brief and ensure sign off at relevant stages in accord- ance with the recognised governance framework and in a consistent and timely manner. • Manage regular stakeholder meetings/engage- ment to provide a detailed understanding and interpretation of existing and projected space issues. • Prepare briefs for projects in relation to space and space targets and plans ensuring efficient and effective allocation of space to function. • Be responsible for ensuring Planon (CAFM sys- tem) is maintained and updated to reflect latest space functions ensuring input from the Estates Property Services team as required and acting as the link to colleagues in other departments to support integrated management information. • Responsibility for the accuracy of all University of Huddersfield drawn (AutoCAD) information. • Provide professional advice to colleagues, key stakeholders and where appropriate tenants of the University on space use and management, advising on design best practice, policies, regu- lations and procedures including Health & Safety requirements. • Liaise with academic and service department colleagues to keep under review the functional suitability and condition of general teaching rooms and develop appropriate improvement programmes with estates and facilities col- leagues. • Working closely with Planning & Business Intel- ligence colleagues prepare and report on space management information including space utili- sation. • Act as a change champion within the University, actively supporting the transformation of the estate increasing space utilisation and the use of space, fostering innovation and creativity, and supporting culture change to make the estate more student and customer focussed and engen- dering value for money and efficiency. • Play a key role in the University of Huddersfield HESA Estates Management Record. • Any other duties commensurate with the role.

Job Purpose: • To strategically manage all space planning and migration logistical functions ensuring space is used efficiently and effectively across the Estate and all Estates Services’ projects, ensuring inte- gration at institutional, campus, and project level. • Working closely also with the Planning & Business Intelligence Team contribute to the development and implementation of cross departmental processes, systems, and procedures, providing advice and guidance on the application of space strategy and norms. • Develop and implement the University of Hud- dersfield space finishes standards ensuring performance and aesthetic quality across the estate Main Duties and Responsibilities: • Lead strategically and operationally the Estates & Facilities Space Management Team. • Provide strategic and operational space and property management services. • Line management of AutoCAD technician and Space Project Officer. • Accountable for budget management and con- trol of the Space Management function. • Responsibility for developing a space ‘terrier function’, including all lease, covenant and boundary information. • Develop and implement and manage policies, standards and space management, providing relevant management information and advice to the Director & Assistant Directors of Estates and Facilities, and colleagues on matters relating to the requirements of physical space across the estate. • Determine the policies required for space pro- cedures, allowances and utilisation of the estate and manage the strategic and operational levels of space management on a day-to-day basis covering space planning and migration activities to ensure the effective delivery of the Estates
Services’ strategy/masterplan and ensure the implementation of effective space planning and project management methodologies. • Develop the strategic approach to Space Man- agement challenges across the estate through playing a key role in the development of the University campus masterplan. • Working with Schools and Service areas take a lead on developing space solutions to accom- modate the Hybrid Working Framework and new working practices, including change manage- ment activities. • Deliver Space Management physical projects including all migration activities to the agreed time, cost, and quality parameters. • Ensure timely production of space feasibility stud- ies including AutCAD and Revitt modelling. • Advise on standard specifications for materials, furniture and finishes to ensure best practice and value for money. • Sit on various steering groups e.g., customer service excellence, ‘well’ standard and furniture suppliers and advise as necessary. • Develop the University approach to furniture management and oversight. • Responsibility for the University signage strategy and operational management. • Proactively research and develop new and inno- vative approaches to space use and design in line with school/service area requirements. • Play a lead role in manging the Space Manage- ment Group content and outcomes. • Review, develop and implement space manage- ment policy and space planning procedures in order to support the University’s policies and the Estate Services strategy and ensure adherence to the University’s regulations. • Play an active role in the development of Estates & Facilities approach to BIM. • To advise on best space management prac- tice and advise staff and key stakeholders on space management policies, regulations and
