Graphic Packaging Closing Facility In Randleman, NC

Atlanta, Georgia based Graphic Packaging will close its facility in Randleman, North Carolina, which is the second closure in the state this year, according to news reports. Graphic Packaging plans to close its Randleman oper- ations around July 9, according to the N.C. Department of Commerce. The closure will result in the loss of about 65 jobs. The company, which produces consumer packaging through a global network of design and manufacturing fa- cilities serving recognized brands in food, beverage and other products, also closed one of its Charlotte operations in March, resulting in the loss of 112 jobs. “After assessing the company’s overall packaging net- work, it was decided to consolidate production at this facil- ity into our broader network of packaging plants,” the com- pany said in a statement. “We anticipate that the closure will be completed in Q4 2024, and we are committed to supporting our employees during this transition. They are encouraged to apply for other positions at GPI if they are interested and qualified, and outplacement assistance will be made available. We also look forward to working with local employers to assist with potential job placements.” Graphic Packaging operates three other plants in North Carolina in the cities of Winston-Salem, Pineville and Lum- berton.
