During the three-day event, 326 CIC’s, 17 Dealer Principals and 62 DTNA (Daimler Trucks of North America) support staff participated in breakout sessions that covered a variety of topics. The contest made it possible for CIC’s to return to their dealership location with a clearer understanding of the expectations of our customers as well as new ideas of how to communicate more effectively with their department managers back at their dealerships.

For the last four years, the Elite Support Team has worked with Elite Support Dealer Network to use the CIC Summit as a platform to also raise money for Habitat for Humanity. Lonestar Truck Group and TAG Truck Center donated $7,500.00. Over $115,260 was donated. The money raised was donated to Austin Habitat for Humanity and will provide two houses for needy families in the area.

During the three-day CIC Summit 326 CICs, 17 dealer principals and 62 DTNA support staff participated in continuious improvement topics.

Fundraising Activities This year’s fundraising goal was $75,000, a stretch goal to take us beyond the $55,000 that was raised at the 2018 CIC Summit. In addition to the money that was raised selling raffle tickets during the Summit Super Bowl Party, individual dealerships were asked to contribute as a family prior to the Summit in order to bolster the fundraising efforts. The Elite Support Team would like to give special recognition to the following dealership families for their donations of $5,000 and over: • Doggett Freightliner • Harrison Truck Centers • I-State Truck Center • Lonestar Truck Group • TAG Truck Center • New West Truck Centres • Premier Truck Group • Stoops Freightliner • Truck Centers Inc. • Truck Country • Warner Truck Centers • Velocity Truck Centers When the last dollar was counted, this year’s fundraising efforts resulted in a total donation of $115,260 for Habitat for Humanity! CICs, you blew the fundraising goal out of the water! The money raised was donated to Austin Habitat for Humanity and will provide not one but TWO houses for needy families in the area. Three representatives from Austin Habitat were onsite at the Summit to receive the check and were overjoyed at our contribution to their local efforts. ...Winners All.

17 CICs took home awards acknow- ledging their efforts in going above and beyond the Elite Support values. 20 certified locations received special recognition for their outstanding achievements in Change Management, Express Assessment and Throughput.

It’s Almost A/C Season…

Believe it or not, it’s time to start thinking about your air conditioning again. Soon the days will be hot and your a/c will be working overtime. With this in mind, it’s a good idea to inspect your a/c system now and prevent costly downtime. Beat the heat with these tips:

Tip #1 Inspect & Clean the Condenser Look for problems like bent fins, loose or broken mounts, rubbing abrasion and build-up. Clean the condenser for maximum air flow, as well as any other airflow items mounted with it. These may include

should have caps that seal them off. Often times these caps are removed and lost. This not only allows for debris to build up, but the cap is the primary seal for the service port. So when the cap is missing, refrigerant may be lost causing inadequate cooing and possibly component damage.

Tip #4 Inspect the Fan & Fan Hub Inspect the fan and fan-hub mounting and verify they are secured properly. Inspect the hub for bearing play, air leaks and clutch damage. Inspect the fan base and blades for cracking or missing sections.

Tip #5 Inspect the A/C Hoses

Tip #6 Air Filters

A/C hoses are designed to be routed and secured in a specific manner. Often times, the hoses are not secured or routed properly. Over time this can cause abrasion and eventually broken or leaking hoses.

Most modern trucks have air filters for the HVAC system. Usually there are filters for fresh air, recirculated air and sleeper units. The filters should be changed periodically based on maintenance manual instructions, but also on an as-needed basis due to operating conditions.
