Isn’t this a strange looking Bible with a red light shining out of it? Remember, I told you that a red light indicates danger. We will open the Bible and see if it gives a warning, Deut. 8:11-14: “Beware that thou for get not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: Lest when thou hast eaten and art full,-'and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt there in; And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply . . . Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.” There was a great danger that the people, having forgotten the true God, would worship false gods. We read, “And it shall be, if thou do at all for get the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and wor ship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. As the nations which the LORD destroy e d before your face, so shall ye per ish; because ye would not be obedi ent unto the voice of the LORD your God” (Deut. 8:18,20). If the children of Israel were so solemnly warned against forgetting the commandments of the Lord, we too should be warned today. Few people, know or care what the Bible teaches. Most people know more about traffic rules than they do about the commandments of God. When people forget the true God, they turn to the gods of pleasure, sin, and gold, just as they did in the days about which we have been studying. Shall we let the red light in the Bible remind us that we should not forget the commandments of God? Fourth Week F aith in a F lag Objects: A piece of white cloth tied to a stick. Lesson: What does this kind of a flag mean in time of war? “ It is a sign ol’ surrender." Yes, the people of all nations know the meaning of a white flag. It is a universal sign by which the defeat ed indicate that they are willing to surrender. This is a flag which all nations are supposed to respect. It has been falsely used, however, by some who wantei to catch the enemy unprepared for the attack. For this reason, those who are surrendering are expected to rome with theit hands raised, to show that they do not have any concealed weapons. Do you know that words are like flags? They have certain meanings. It is possible to use words falsely, even as some have been known to use the white flag falsely, not intend ing to surrender.

Rev. Elmer L. Churches desirous of his services should contact him at once at Box 14, Imperial, California. miss affair, but under the directives of an Omnipotent Sovereign. If the future is under God’s thumb, I fear no event in it. (b) The purpose of God shall not be thwarted by man. We can do nothing against the truth. What God has promised shall come to pass, (c) If a bomb should devastate the spot where I am, in a moment of time I should be in His presence. To die is to be absent from the body and present with the Lord. If to die is gain, why then should I fear death even from an atomic bomb? (3). “ One World or Christ's." The writers of this book put their hope in a future world-wide organization. So do I. They say, “One world or none.” I say, “One world or Christ’s.” Jesus Christ is a King who has gone into a far country to receive a kingdom and return. I have prayed, and you have prayed, “Thy Kingdom come!” One day He is coming, and coming with Him is His kingdom. Atomic energy shall not destroy the human race from the face of the earth. Seedtime and harvest, rainbow and sunshine, shall continue until the Son of Man comes in the clouds of Heaven and, “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever” (Rev. 11:15). This book ends with the words, "Time is short. Survival is at stake.” A Christian may say: “He which testi- fieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” ONE WORLD OR CHRIST’S (Continued from Page 309)

In Leviticus 19:12 we have a state ment regarding the false use of God’s name. We' read, “And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.” Again, “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain” (Ex. 20:7). The name of God is supposed to be used in worship, prayer and praise. People who use God’s name in swear ing are guilty of taking His name in vain. Many people take God’s name in vain without realizing what they are doing. Some common slang Words are forms of profanity. Webster’s Un abridged Dictionary gives the follow ing definitions: “Gee—A minced form of Jesus, used in mild oaths. Golly— A substitute for God. Gosh—A sof tened form of God, used as a mild oath. MacMillians Modern Diction ary: "Darn—Mild form of damn, damnation, damned.” If anyone has been guilty of using God’s name falsely, even by the use of slang, he should confess it as a sin and not do it any more.
