Enveloping our favorite era, the 80s, this high energy, skinny tied, greased hair and horn-rimmed glasses wearing group is guaranteed to get you up movin’ and groovin’ to the electronic sounds of the 80s. It will make you wish you were back in the 80s…. almost. Especially when they blast into a few of our favorites from artists like The Knack, Wham, Cindy Lauper, Billy Idol, and more. Get on your big hair, your skinny tie, plaid pants, and head over to the Budweiser Community Stage Friday, June 14th. Their first set begins at 9pm, and second plays at 10:30pm. Be ready to rock with the nerds!

The Spazmatics really begin in the 80s… born from a lost bet between a pupil and a professor at a high school in Thousand Oaks California. This musically challenged physics professor, the loser of the bet, had to perform the song “She Blinded Me with Science” by Thomas Dolby during halftime at a state championship basketball game. Enlisting the assistance and skills of a fellow electronics teacher who could make music generated from computers—adding guitar and bass skills of a brother and teacher’s assistant, the band was born. The professor, Kevin Stigwood, began performing a popular 80s dance called “The Belinda” with a
