Fun for Kids
Racing and competing have been part of life for hundred of years. At El Dorado County Fair, the little ones don’t get left out of this time-honored tradition. For young-uns ages 4-7, Gold Country Ace Hardware generously sponsors the “Big Wheel Races,” Friday thru Sunday at 6:00pm near the Organ Room Lawn. These fierce little competitors rev up the big wheels and race to the finish with crowds cheering them on. On Kids Day, Thursday June 13 th at 12:15 and 6:00pm to honor the 75 th annual John M Studebaker Wheelbarrow Race, kids will have the opportunity to race pint size wheelbarrows against each other. Contestants of the Big Wheel Race and the Kids Wheelbarrow Race receive a ribbon and first place winner earns a T-shirt. Parents — bring your 4 to 7-year-olds to the track five minutes before starting
time to sign-up. And even if you don’t have a little to enter, you’ll want to stop by and watch the race. It’s a hoot!
Sadie the Balloon Lady Always attracting a crowd with her crazy wigs and costuming, Becky creates balloon art as unique as the person who receives it! “I love the creativity, and I love how it brings people together,” says Goodyear. “There is a kid in everyone!” Catch her strolling around the grounds, say hello and watch her work her magic.
