F ully enjoying the LA County Fair is always a joyful experience but it also takes some exercise to see it all. So it seems appropriate that the Fair will host its Fitness Fair on the first weekend of activities on Friday, Aug. 30 through Monday, Sept. 2. The Fitness Fair, presented by Walmart, will be held in the infield of the grandstand area which is now called the Fields. Visitors will be able to participate in the Spartan Race Short Course, a 6,000-square-foot challenge for those who are just starting out or the physically fit looking to step up their game. Purchase your combo LA County Fair/Spartan Race obstacle course challenge ticket in advance on LA County Fair website at www.lacountyfair. com/things-to-do/fitness-fair/ 24 Hour Fitness will conduct a number of its popular classes with its certified instructors to motivate and guide visitors. These complimentary classes will include Zumba, BodyPump and POP Pilates, among others.

United States Strongman, in conjunction with Empire Barbell, will host its regional competition, the LA County Fair Strongman Classic at the Fitness Fair. Men’s and women’s divisions will be featured as competitors earn their way toward the coveted Arnold Classic. Strength competitions for novice men and women will be held Friday from noon to 5 p.m.; the women’s open division on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; and men’s open division on Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For soccer fans, the Ontario Fury indoor professional soccer team players will conduct free clinics for guests as well as hosting a variety of team and 3-on-3 competitions. Also in conjunction with the Fitness Fair will be health and unique food options available for purchase. It will also feature a variety of health and wellness exhibitors, such including Pedialyte, Califia Farms, the U.S. Navy and It Works, providing information and demonstrations. While at the Fair, it will be possible to donate at the site on the Fairgrounds sponsored by Cedars-Sinai next to the Big Red Barn on Birch Street. These will be:

Family fun, kids zone, ice skating, zip-line, food, beverages, photos with Santa, horse drawn carriage, snow play, games and much more! 10 AM – 5 PM

as well as Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, the City of Hope and Huntington Hospital. There will also be blood drives at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel during the Fair with donors receiving an admission ticket good for any day.

You can do a thoughtful act and get rewarded for it by the LA County Fair when you donate blood at a variety of Los Angeles-area hospitals or the Red Cross. Donors will receive a free admission ticket to the Fair good for any day from Aug. 30 to Sept. 8.
