Deals & Discounts: Ways to save on Fair admission

• A similar $29 offer for admission on Thursdays and a carnival ride wristband can be obtained from Subway. Vouchers for up to six Fresh Fun Thursday packages can be purchased at Subway locations through Sept. 19.

• Costco stores are offering $59.99 packages for 4 single-day admission tickets, 1 parking pass and 44 ride and game tickets.

T here are lots of ways to save money at the LA County Fair. Check out the wide range of discounts and other opportunities: OPENINGWEEKEND ONLY! • Inland Empire Day, presented by Walmart, will be Saturday, Aug. 31, with $8 admission online or $12 at the gate for Inland Empire residents who use the promo code INLANDEMPIRE at LACountyFair.com/IE Day. • All Los Angeles County residents can celebrate LA County Day at the Fair on Sunday, Sept. 1, with special $8 admission online or $12 at the gate by using the promo code LACOUNTY at LACountyFair.com/LACountyDay. • Union Day will be on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2, as the Fair celebrates the hard work of union workers across Southern California with an $8 admission. Members should check with their local union halls for additional information.

• King Taco will sell a coupon for Sunday, Sept. 15, (good for that day only between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) for one free Fair admission for every regular ticket purchased at their locations. • The first full week of the Fair, Sept. 4 to 8, is Week for Heroes. During those days, active and retired military, veterans, reservists, fire, police and paramedics with ID can get one admission for $2 plus a second $2 admission for a guest. Half of each admission fee will be donated to a local charity. • A new aspect is the Passport to Savings book which includes over 100 offers valued at more than $1,000 on favorite foods, rides, shopping and attractions. Plus, a free return admission ticket (on Wednesday through Friday only) is included with each book. The Passport to Savings books are only $5 each and available at the Yellow, Blue and Green entry gates.

• On Senior Wednesdays, those 60 and older can get free admission each Wednesday from noon to 3 p.m.

• Food Drive Thursdays will be on Sept. 5, 12 and 19 from noon to 5 p.m. Donate five canned goods per person and receive a free admission that day. Food will go to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and local charities.

• Single-day admissions of $12 for adults and $6 for kids 6 to 12 are available at all Ralphs supermarkets through Sept. 22. Discounts on carnival ride wristbands are also available

• School Supply Wednesdays will be Sept. 4, 11 and 18 from noon to 5 p.m. Bring in 5 new packaged school supplies and receive free admission to the Fair that day.

• Superior Grocers will have similar discounts available through Sept. 22.
