Not many events have been going strong since 1880. The San Diego County Fair began that year as a two-day gathering of farmers and craftsmen, exhibiting and competing for recognition in modern farming, arts and crafts, and canned and baked goods. Over the years, the event expanded to reflect public interest and growing industry. Awarding ribbons, trophies and prize money to the best-of-the-best in various categories and competitions is a beloved fair tradition that continues today. The 2019 San Diego County Fair presented by Albertsons|Vons features exhibitions from art to woodworking and produce to pigs. Inspire your inner crafter by taking a stroll through the Fair’s Competitive Exhibits displays. The Home & Hobby Exhibit is like a real-life Pinterest board. The Fine Art and Photography Exhibits rival Balboa Park’s museums.
