Asian & Pacific Islander Festival Ballast Point Paddock Stage • June 15 Take a one-day journey through Asia and the Pacific Islands, without ever leaving the Fair! Celebrate the “Year of the Pig” and experience traditions from Shanghai to South Polynesia. Sip on a Boba Tea while enjoying dance and martial arts performances showcasing the many cultures of this region. VAVI San Diego County Fair 5K Del Mar Arena • June 15 at 7:00 a.m. Lace up your sneakers and get ready for an emerald run as you race through the Fair before it opens to the public in VAVi’s San Diego County Fair 5K . Register in advance to participate; includes Fair admission, a return ticket to the Fair, an official race t-shirt and more. (Must pre-register to participate)
It’s a rainbow of entertainment and activities celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. Highlights include the In Achord Men’s Ensemble, Girlboy, LGBTQ+ non-profit organizations, the Glam Show, and a special performance by DEV.
Bloom ‘n’ Art Garden Party Garden Show • June 1–2 • all day
This weekend celebration of floral and fine art takes place within the beautiful surroundings of the Flower & Garden Shows. Floral design is front and center with “how to” demonstrations for wedding bouquets, corsages, floral art interpretation and maintaining cut flowers. Be amazed as artists create scenes in chalk, using large patches of sidewalk as their canvases. Plein air artists will transform blank canvases into colorful works of art.
