SAFETY

We are committed to ensuring the safety of all our guests and employees. All guests must pass through metal detectors and/or bag checks at the entrance. IT’S OUR #1 PRIORITY!

Automated External Defibrillators AEDs are located throughout the Fairgrounds. In the event of a cardiac arrest, look for the nearest AED. Hand-Washing Stations Always remember to wash your hands with soap and water after interacting with animals! Hand-washing stations are available in all animal areas. In the Event of an Emergency • Stay calm and pay attention to emergency personnel and Fairgrounds employees • Listen to the loudspeaker announcements for instructions. In Case of a Power Outage • If on a ride, stay seated and remain calm. Staff will return you safely to the ground. • Grandstand elevators are designed to operate on emergency power and are equipped with emergency phones.

In Case of Evacuation

Keep your group together.

• You will be directed to walk out, not drive. Please do not attempt to use your vehicle if directed not to do so. Evacuation Routes

Patrons west of the Plaza de Mexico: Exit Solana Gate

• Patrons east of the Plaza de Mexico: Exit O’Brien Gate and head south to downtown Del Mar.

• Patrons in Family Funville, Arena or Stable areas: Exit the Stable Gate and head north toward Solana Beach.

• In the event of a tsunami, circumstances and/or

prevailing conditions (surging water) may warrant the need to seek refuge in the Grandstand. You should

proceed to the third level or higher. If You See Something, Say Something!

If you see anything suspicious or out of the ordinary, please immediately report it to Security at (858) 792-4271. Security Offices Security offices are located in the East Grandstand and on the Avenue near the Fun Zone.

• If you are in a stairwell or escalator, wait for Fair staff members to escort you down the steps with a flashlight.
