do you know Christ? Give Him a chance and He will not only satisfy your inner man but will supply your needs materially. David said, ‘I was young and now I am old but I have not seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed beg ging bread.’ ” So seeming discourtesies are just expres sions from dissatisfied hearts and often open doors for a conversation. We visit ships from many countries, carrying men speaking many languages, and nearly always find some who are glad to talk about Christ. Recently we met a young man who was struggling with difficulties, and seeking to overcome temptation. “The Christian life is impossible at sea,” he said. After several direct questions we could say authoritatively from the Word of God, “Your trouble is this, you have been trying to live a Christian life before you are a Christian. You need to take your place as a sinner, lost and undone. Ac cept Christ as your Saviour now, and you will inherit eter nal life forever; and then, taking your place as a Son of God, seek to live a life pleasing to Him, trust not yourself but Kim to keep you day by day and you will get the vic tory.” This the man did and we were both happy. It is always a joy to visit boats direct from the Orient, for their men •are always desirous of the literature. On one oil tanker carrying Chinese the men gathered in groups on the deck and some would read while others they listened." Others began reading to themselves on their bunks, etc. Oh, how little we who have been born with Bible in our homes and a Christian inheritance appreciate our blessings. Brother, sister, friend^—spend a day on one of these ships with us among men who have never had a Gospel or Bible of their own and it will stir you to action. On account of the many vessels entering our harbor, re turn visits are often more than six months apart but one day we noticed one of the Canadian boats that visits reg ularly and were doubtful as to taking time now to visit her again. We lifted our heart to Him for guidance and went. The very first man we met was God’s man for us, After a lengthy conversation he accepted Christ as his Saviour and we invited him to our home on his next trip here and then he said, “Oh I’ll not be coming back again, this is my first and only trip, I am earning money to go East when I return.” Then we told him of God’s leading and both of us lifted our hearts in praise to Him who know- eth the end from the beginning. A CALL FOR THE AUGUST K. B. The demand for the August number has been so great that the issue has been exhausted, and we are needing at least 250 copies to meet the need. We would greatly appreciate receiving any copies which can be spared. Address them to The King’s Business Office, please, and accept our hearty thanks.

imagine why a complaint should be made. “Well,” the owner said, “Let us Sit down. I have no use for either Catholics or Protestants, hut you can come just as long as you want, and if the party who complained does not like it, I’ll tell him where he can get oil.” The conversa tion continued quite a while and the woman confessed vir tually to have forsaken God, but both worker and owner parted as friends with an invitation for the worker to call on her, and since they have had telephone communica tion. Thus Satan once more overstepped himself, and our Lord Jesus is still victor. All praise to His Holy name! The interest in our service among the men has continued unabated and during the long evenings we have been able to hold many outdoor services, thus reaching hundreds with the Gospel who would not have entered a Mission Hall or church. We have distributed nearly 2,000 Gospels of John besides hundreds of tracts, so that we are just about out of Gospels and are asking the Lord for another thousand. Some may wonder if we give a Gospel to the same per sons over and over again. No, indeed, we first ask if they have already received one. Thus we reach thousands who go from here into other states and many return to Mexico. What an opportunity for the prayer-intercessor, that His Word shall not return void. At times we are overwhelmed with the great opportunity before us. Recently one of our converts testified how we had found him and taught him the Scriptures. The result has been that many of the Christians who heard his testimony have invited us to their town to instruct them in the study of the Scriptures. There are many such openings which we would like to enter. Recently seven men in a locality where we have been visiting for sometime, made a decision to accept Christ, so when we least expect it, God encourages our hearts. During these coming months our work will be mostly in the nature of follow-up and teaching work. Oh, how much we need your prayers for strength to continue the battle. ¿Me. It may be hard for some of you who are not acquainted with ships and sailors to understand some of their seeming discourtesies, but we hope you will not think them very impolite as you read some of our experiences. “What are you trying to sell?” say some, thinking wef are after their money. Others will say when they see our literature, “We don’t need that; what we need is pork chops. We have seen enough of religion.” “Quite true,” we answer, “but
