Commodities Age Well Senior Services in cooperation with the Community Action Partnership of Orange County distributes nonperishable food items. Please bring two reusable grocery bags to fill. December 19 / 10 – 11 am / NPM January 16 / 10 – 11 am / NPM February 20 / 10 – 11 am / NPM Special Needs Special Needs Adaptive Program (SNAP) The City of Mission Viejo is committed to providing successful recreational opportunities to people of all ABILITIES! Transportation Dial-A-Taxi Age 60 & up (Mission Viejo Residents Only) The City’s Senior Dial-A-Taxi Program offers 24/7 service in Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills, Lake Forest, Laguna Woods, Rancho Santa Margarita and additional satellite destinations. Customer cost is $5 per one-way trip. Seniors can also obtain a ride to John Wayne Airport for $20 each way. *Enjoy free round-trip service to all City facilities. Fill out an application online at cityofmissionviejo.org/ recreation. Community Events Letters to Santa Get those wish lists ready and let the holiday magic begin. Santa promises to answer every letter deposited in the mailbox next to his workshop. Please clearly print your name and return address so Santa and his elves can respond to each letter. Enjoy a traditional holiday meal, dance to the sounds of a live 10-piece Big Band "Close Harmony," take your annual holiday photos in front of our merry decorations and receive a lovely memento of the season. If an emergency or incident happens within the City and volunteer support is available, participants will be contacted for a wellness check. The program is designed for Mission Viejo residents 60 and older and individuals of any age with special needs. For more information or to apply, complete an application online at cityofmissionviejo.org/wellness-check-program or in person at the Norman P. Murray Center. Food Resources Senior Grocery This free food pantry caters to low- and fixed-income seniors. Shop from perishable and nonperishable items such as meat, dairy, fresh produce and canned goods. Seniors may fill up to two grocery or reusable bags per household. Check-in at 8 am in the lobby. Bring two reusable grocery bags. Fri / 8 – 9 am / Ongoing / Free / NPM Age Well Senior Services Lunch Program Age Well Senior Services provides hot or cold nutritious and delicious lunches. Meals are catered by Zest in a Bowl.
