2951 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps (RCCAC) is taking 18 local cadets on a Battlefield tour, which includes Normandy, Juno Beach and Passchendaele, on Remembrance Day, the 100 th anniversary of Vimy Ridge. Cadets, between the ages of 12 and 18, come from Russell and surrounding areas.They are now raising funds to help the youth travel at no expense. “We’ve got an ambitious group and they’re excited to go,” said KimSheldrick, Cadet parent as well as public relations officer of the support committee.
