By Brandon K. Pierce Alabama Ledger A total of 137 students make up this year's graduating class at Sardis High School. The senior class is led by Valedictorian Caroline Johnson and Salutatorian Nyna Nix. Caroline has many memories from her time at Sardis, including playing in the 5A Girls Basketball Regional Semi-Final at JSU and spending Friday nights at football games in the student section, cheering on the Lions football team, band, and cheerleaders. After graduation, Caroline plans to attend the University of Mobile as a Pre-Med Major, and play tennis for their college women’s team. In the future she hopes to complete medical school and return home to serve in her community. "Pursue God with all your heart and He will guide you for the rest of your life," commented Caroline. Nyna agreed with her classmate and said that some of her favorite memories at Sardis were attending band competitions and football games. One of the things that Nyna learned at Sardis is that making the effort to do the right thing is really half the battle. Her plans after high school are to study computer science at JSU and pursue a job in cybersecurity. "I would really like to create video games one day," she said. The members of the Class of 2023 at Sardis are: Jake Alewine
