POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR MODEL ON PRIMARY
POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR
The Lakes South Morang College - Primary implements the Positive Behaviour Framework. The Positive Behaviour Framework is an evidence - based approach to managing student behaviour and to support issues at the local community level. The framework is evaluated regularly, and practices are adjusted to make sure the process is achieving effective results for schools. The purpose of implementing Positive Behaviour at The Lakes South Morang College - Primary is to:
•
Embed common language and behavioural expectations for the whole school community.
•
Provide a safe and orderly environment to enhance learning.
•
Use evidence - based decision - making using data.
•
Provide a common teaching base in the form of a behavioural matrix.
•
Embed a culture of positive behaviour through explicit teaching (as opposed to punishment)
To support the framework staff and students on the primary campus developed a Behaviour Response Flowchart and a Positive Behaviour Matrix.
CLASS DOJO
To help support this framework the school uses ‘ Class Dojo ’ as a positive acknowledgment system for students when they are displaying the desired behaviours. It is an online system where students are awarded a dojo when they display a positive behaviour which can be seen in the Positive Behaviour Matrix. Students can spend their dojos at our Primary Reward Shop or at their year level rewards shop.
