The UK’s best managed companies 2025
In June, ten private businesses are being recognised as winners of the UK’s Best Managed Companies programme at an awards ceremony held at the McLaren Technology Centre. Running for the first time in the UK, the Best Managed Companies awards is a global programme that recognises top private companies for their culture, organisational success and contributions to their industry and wider economy. I am delighted that we have launched this global awards programme in the UK, bringing private businesses together to recognise their excellence and success. It’s important we recognise excellence in UK private companies and the incredible role both private and family businesses play in the UK economy – leading the way on innovation, creating employment and, importantly, driving UK-wide growth and prosperity. The awards shine a spotlight on private businesses from across the UK and the exceptional performance that drives them.
Entrants to the programme strive for this prestigious designation in a rigorous and independent judging process that evaluates their management skills and practices. Their business strategy and operations are reviewed and benchmarked against a framework which is applied to a global community of more than 1,300 best managed private companies. Business leaders use the process to sharpen strategies and gain valuable insights to help them fine-tune their operations, optimising business growth and attracting and retaining the best talent. Winners of the Best Managed Companies awards are encouraged to participate in the programme every year to continuously challenge, improve and grow their companies to maintain their Best Managed Companies status. They join other companies from across the world that have achieved this mark of excellence, elevating their brand credibility, and expanding their market presence.
