welcomed some 100 visitors during its official vernissage. “It’s great to see somany interested residents of the city make their way to the show,” said Carter-Edwards. “Our students are very excited.” In addition to themany interesting pieces being displayed, some music students were also providing entertainment for the evening. “We’re very thankful for them,” expressed Schwartz. “They are doing great work.” A similar art show used to be held atThe Regional Art Gallery (TAG). “It wasn’t simply opened to CCVS students,” said Carter- Edwards. “Any student fromCornwall could participate. We decided to do something for our students only. Pierre Dufour, program coordinator for the Cornwall Public Library, was extremely generous in letting us expose the art pieces here.” The CCVS art show was featured at the Cornwall Library for the second straight year.

Visitors to the annual Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School (CCVS) art show vernissage, held at the Cornwall Public Library on May 19 and 20, were welcomed by more than 200 pieces of local art, all of them crafted by CCVS students. “Most of the students participating are visual art students,” explained one of the teachers in charge of the event, Betty Carter- Edwards. “But the event is opened to any student.” Many different art mediums were chosen by the up and coming artists, such as paintings, drawings, engravings, sculptures and much more. “We let them decide what they wanted to do,” stressed CCVS teacher Cindy Schwartz. “They created some very interesting and wonderful things.” The art show, which has been held at the Cornwall Library since May 6,
